According to Mishaal Rahman, the new functionality is called “Immersive weather vibrations,” and is rolling out to some users. The feature offers different vibration patterns for various weather conditions. It also plays relevant sounds.

You can check to see if you have the update by tapping the avatar in the top-right corner of the Pixel Weather app. If you do, you’ll see the ‘Immersive weather vibrations option.’

This update is rolling out gradually, so it might be a few days before it hits your device.
