Finally, we’ll highlight shows or movies that are made by Canadian companies, involve notable Canadian cast or crew and/or are filmed in Canada.

Crave

Crave has a new stand-up comedy special and documentary featuring Canadian comics and married couple Darcy and Jer.

Netflix

Arcane (Season 2) [Netflix Original]

Netflix Canada release date: November 9th, 2024 (first three episodes, three new episodes every Saturday)
Genre: Adult animation, steampunk, action-adventure
Runtime: Nine episodes (around 40-45 minutes each)

In this second and final season, the war between Vi and Jinx and Piltover and Vaun comes to an end.

Based on Riot’s League of Legends video game series, Arcane was animated by the French studio Fortiche and features the voices of Hailee Steinfeld (True Grit), Ella Purnell (Fallout), Kevin Alejandro (Lucifer) and Katie Leung (Harry Potter series).

Countdown: Paul vs. Tyson [Netflix Original]

Netflix Canada release date: November 8th, 2024 (first two episodes, third episode on November 12th)
Genre: Documentary
Runtime: Three episodes (around 40 minutes each)

This docuseries offers a behind-the-scenes look at the training camps and personal lives of boxers Mike Tyson and Jake Paul ahead of their big fight (which will stream on Netflix) on November 15th.

My Old Ass

During her last summer in Muskoka before going off to university, 18-year-old Elliott finds herself communicating with an older version of herself, leading her to reevaluate everything about her life.

My Old Ass was written and directed by Lindsay, Ontario’s Megan Park (The Fallout) and stars Oshawa, Ontario’s Maisy Stella (Nashville), St. John’s, NL’s Percy Hynes White (Wednesday), Maddie Ziegler (West Side Story) and Aubrey Plaza (Parks and Recreation). It’s also worth noting that the movie was filmed in Muskoka Lakes.
